How about you stop lying and take responsibility for your actions?

Stop lying to yourself
Stop lying to yourself

Stop saying “I don’t have time to do X”

WRONG!

You have 24 hours per day as much as me and any other human being, animal, plant, rock on this planet.

Be honest with yourself and take responsibilities for your actions.

Say “I chose not to do X because I consider Y and Z more important”

  1. It’s not lying if they say “i don’t have time” because they chose to do Y and Z, the assumption is, we have 8 hour work days. Yes we have 24 hours a day, but we don’t plan or estimate work on a 12 or 18 or 24 hour day (at least we shouldn’t!), it’s done on an 8 hour day basis. It would be better communication if they they justified why, like say, I am prioritizing Y and Z over X, thus don’t have time. In the end, it’s the same thing.

    • Greg, thanks for your feedback. I think you might have somehow missed my point, my statement doesn’t specifically refer to work, but to any context. Did you ever hear anybody say I don’t have time to read books, or I don’t have time to go for a run. I think it is a matter of taking responsibility for our own actions and being honest with ourselves and others, no more, no less.
